Contrary to state media reports going around that reigning Miss Zimbabwe Thabiso Phiri resigned from her thrown because of leaked n*de pictures, a source claiming to be very close her claims that the beauty queen is infact pregnant from a high ranking Harare politician cum businessman.

Speaking to Bulawayo24 on condition of remaining anonymous, the source who claims to be "a very close friend" of Phiri says that Phiri disclosed to some of her peers and relatives that she was pregnant and so can not continue to be Miss Zimbabwe as the rules of the pageant do not allow for that.

In her statement, the source who however also claims to have got the information from another source who she says is closest to Phiri says that Miss Zimbabwe suspects that she may have got the pregnancy on the night of the Miss Zimbabwe finals. According to the source, Phiri is suspecting to be about six weeks pregnant which rightly points that she may have got the pregnancy on the night of the finals in mid June.

The source who also claims to have been present at the finals says that the girls went on a night of drinking and parting after the finals before Phiri disappeared to an up class hotel with the prominent businessman nearly twice their age. The source who insists that she is a very reliable source of the information claims that the businessman cum politician (name not supplied) is refusing to accept responsibility of the pregnancy and has been trying to force the beauty queen to abort which she has refused to do leading to her resigning from the thrown.

The 2014 Miss Zimbabwe pageant was marred by numerous scandals top of which was the dismissal of two contesting finalists, Hilda Mabu (21) and Primrose Tshuma (21) both from Harare when they escaped camp to go out on an evening of clubbing with some Harare businessmen. Sources from within the pageant have claimed that the girls were being enticed by the business people who claimed to have contacts with the judges and were going to influence votes in their favour.

The source who availed herself to Bulawayo24 insists on the state media providing the photos which they claim to have gone viral.

"This is interesting? Where are the photos because no one has seen them. Its a cover up," said the source.

"Someone somewhere is not telling the truth, they want to force her to an abortion and cover up for the big man," insists the source.

Comment could not be obtained from Phiri who is said to have changed her mobile number following her controversial resignation.
