Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have been challenged to stick to their core business of being vehicles of development and shun meddling in politics.
The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs in Manicaland Province, Chris Mushohwe said NGOs should not engage in politics but rather partner the government and become instruments for development.
He was speaking at the commissioning of a classroom block at Mutimba Primary School in Chindoti village that was renovated by Plan Zimbabwe.
He however commended Plan Zimbabwe for refurbishing the school infrastructure.
The school was built in the 1940s and infrastructure had deteriorated.
Mushohwe also encouraged farmers to adapt to the changing weather patterns to improve yield per hectare.
The commissioning of a classroom block also coincided with the Mutare West Agricultural Show, which saw farmers showcasing their agricultural produce and livestock.
