An Australian parliamentary delegation, led by chief opposition whip for the Liberal Party Warren Entsch (MP), is currently visiting Zimbabwe.

It comprises senators and members of both houses of the Australian Parliament, and from all major parties.

The delegation comprises Entsch, Andrew Southcott (MP) and Kate Southcott, Senator Sue Lines, Senator Penny Wright, Senator David Bushby and Daniel Weight.

They will be meeting with parliamentarians in Zimbabwe, calling on both the president of the Senate Edna Madzongwe and Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda. They will also visit Australian Aid projects in both Harare and Bulawayo.

Commenting on the visit, Australian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Matthew Neuhaus said: "I am delighted by this visit which is another positive step in the growing engagement between Australia and Zimbabwe.

"The Australian parliamentarians will be able to see the good work being done to rehabilitate the economy and social sector by Australian Aid, and to encourage further democratic development in Zimbabwe".

He added that the Australian Cricket Team will also shortly visit the country.
