The High Court has ordered the immediate release of University of Zimbabwe student and Baba Jukwa suspect Romeo Musemburi's student identity card to allow him to sit for examinations at the institution of higher learning.
Musemburi had dragged the institution of higher learning and its Vice Chancellor, Professor Levi Nyagura as well as the university's registrar to court on an urgent basis for allegedly refusing to issue him with a new identity card which allows him access to sit for exams slated to begin today.
Musemburi, a second year economics student, through Advocate Tonderai Bhatasara was arguing that by denying him a card replacement it was in violation of his constitutional rights.
He alleged that the institution of higher learning's website was reflecting that his results for exams he sat for were not available.
He also challenged his failure to access the library as he did not have a student ID which he had lost together with his other particulars when he was arrested over the Baba Jukwa case.
Justice Joseph Mafusire granted an order sought by Musemburi with the consent of both parties.
Advocate Bhatasara confirmed the development and said his client has since sat for Tuesday's examination and will also sit for Thursday's examination.
Musemburi is facing charges of attempting to commit an act of banditry, insurgency and sabotage or terrorism for his role in requesting for Facebook character Baba Jukwa to purchase fire arms to be used in the forcible removal of a constitutionally elected government.
