The Zimbabwe Defence Force says it will not stand by and allow forces that want to reverse the gains of the liberation struggle to effect regime change.
Giving his annual address to the media ahead of the Defence Forces Day on Tuesday, the Minister of Defence, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi said calls to destabilise the country through western sponsored agents will be swiftly dealt with by the country's security agents.
Dr Sekeramayi also bemoaned the country's inability to invest in Angola, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo where Zimbabwe's intervention was instrumental in stopping foreign sponsored insurgents.
Defence Forces Day, celebrated on the 12th of August, is an annual event where the country's security forces are honoured for maintaining peace and tranquility and allows members of the public to see how the forces operate.
The day is also important in reminding Zimbabweans of the sacrifices made by the gallant sons and daughters in liberating the country from the white settler regime.
