A Harare man yesterday told the civil court that his wife is in the habit of watching adult videos with their two male children who are aged 11 and 17.
Gilbert Mazivisa said his wife Martha would accuse him of ill-treating the children each time he tried to reprimand them for watching the adult videos.
This was revealed at the Harare Civil Court where Martha was seeking a protection order against Mazivisa whom she said was in the habit of verbally abusing her in front of their children.
"This man is very cruel," she said.
"He infected me with HIV and to cover up for that he then accused me of being a prostitute."
Martha told magistrate Tafadzwa Muvhami that Mazivisa was in the habit of beating up the children over minor issues.
"He is in the habit of beating up the children over petty issues and I do not like it because he will be breaching their peace," Martha said.
She pleaded with Muvhami to evict Mazivisa from their matrimonial home, saying it belonged to her.
Mazivisa denied the allegations and accused Martha of allowing their children to watch adult videos in her presence.
"She lied before the court when she said I am ill-treating the children because whenever I try to reprimand them against something, she takes it as ill-treatment," he said.
Mazivisa said he was having problems with Martha because she allowed their children to watch the adult videos.
"I do not know if I will be ill-treating my children by reprimanding them for watching dirty videos," Mazivisa said.
Muvhami granted the protection order in Martha's favour and ordered the two to keep peace towards each other.
