Cross Borders commend banks for short term loans

Members of the Cross Border Traders Association in Chitungwiza have commended local financial institutions for supporting them through availing short term loans, which they say is critical in enhancing their business activities, ZBC News reported on Saturday.

Cross border traders who have in the past raised concern over difficulties in accessing funds from local financial institutions, say they are pleased with the increased cooperation between the banks and members of their association.

Cross border traders from Chitungwiza who spoke to ZBC News soon after receiving loans ranging from US$3 000 to US$5 000  from a local bank in a deal facilitated by their executive, underscored the significant role that the sector can play in contributing towards improving livelihoods of people in different communities.

Meanwhile, there was a send off ceremony for a group of 65 members of the association drawn from Chitungwiza, who are set to go on a two week long trip to Tanzania as part of the association goal of facilitating business trips by cross border traders to different markets in the region and overseas
