Commuter omnibus operators in Harare have threatened to take legal action to stop abuse allegedly at the hands of Harare City Council and the Zimbabwe Republic Police after they were attacked yesterday while converging at the Coventry holding bay, demanding the release of their impounded vehicles.
The operators said they were incensed by rampant corruption involving senior council's officials, politicians and members of the uniformed forces whose vehicles were being allowed into the city centre while other vehicles were being impounded.
They said council was now taking advantage of the new holding bay system to fleece them of huge sums of money.
