Zanu PF national chairman Simon Khaya Moyo is stepping up his champaign for the party's vice presidency as he launches the John Landa Nkomo Memorial Trust this Friday.
Khaya Moyo has remained mum on his ambition to replace Nkomo who died in January last year.
Former Zimbabwean Ambassador to South Africa Phelekezela Mphoko and Home Affairs minister Kembo Mohadi recently revealed interest in the post.
Khaya Moyo will also appoint a board of trustees that would be unveilled at the ceremony in a move which Zanu PF insiders say marks the beginning of Khaya Moyo's campaign.
"Remember Mphoko has made a number of donations to the Landa John Nkomo School so this could be a counter by Khaya Moyo," said a Zanu PF source.
"It appears the two are using John Nkomo to campaign for elwvatuon to the Vice Presidency."
Zanu PF holds its elective congress in December.
