Zimbabwe government to impose farm rent
21 Aug 2014 at 08:46hrs | Views
Resettled farmers will soon pay rentals on their properties in a move government hopes will spur them to fully utilise their land.
Lands and Rural Settlement minister Douglas Mombeshora said he was working closely with Local Government minister Ignatius Chombo over the farm charges.
Mombeshora said the fees are rentals not levies as reported in some sections of media.
There is an estimated 300 000 resettled farmers on land seized from former white farmers under government's agrarian revolution.
