Four die in Masvingo-Beitbridge highway accident

Four people died on the spot and three others injured when a haulage truck veered off the road and overturned at the 139km peg along the Masvingo-Beitbridge highway.
Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said they suspect the accident which happened early on Thursday near Rutenga, could be as a result of speeding by the driver.
Chief Superintendent Nyathi said as police they are concerned with the rate of accidents involving haulage trucks and are therefore advising truck owners and drivers to desist from carrying unauthorised passengers and goods.
He said stern action will be taken against offenders.
