A man from Guni village in Tokwe Murkosi claims the Holy Spirit instructed him to apply cooking oil on a congregant's privates using his manhood.

The man, Maphio Mateyo, who is a prophet, appeared before Gweru magistrate Florence Nago facing charges of raping a female church member while they were praying in the bush. He pleaded guilty to the charge laid against him and was remanded for trial while on bail.

Prosecutor Mr Daniel Tafuma told the court that on 27 May 2014, the woman (name withheld) was praying in the bush with Mateyo.

The man then "prophesied" that the victim had a stomach problem.

He then took some cooking oil and started praying while holding it.

Mateyo then pretended to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit and unzipped his trousers to put some drops of cooking oil on his sexual organ.

After that he ordered the complainant to lie down saying he wanted to apply cooking oil in the complainant's organ using his organ so that the cooking oil would enter her stomach and the problem would be solved.

Mateyo then had sex with the complainant once, without her consent. The complainant notified the police leading to the arrest of Mateyo.
