Late John Nkomo Trust launched

A memorial trust in honour of the late Vice President Landa John Nkomo has been officially launched in Bulawayo with an 11-member board of trustees having been put in place.
The board consists of Mrs Busiso Nkomo, Mr Philip Nkomo, Mr Public Nkomo, Mrs Thandiwe Nkomo Ibrahim, Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, Senator Angeline Masuku, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube, Mr Christopher Dube, Mr Rajesh Modi and Mr Nyararai Sibanda.
Announcing the board, the Senior Minister of State, who is also the patron of the trust, Simon Khaya Moyo said they should strive to keep the legacy of the late vice president.
The board chairman, who is also son to the late Vice President Nkomo, Jabulani promised that the board will ensure projects that were started by Nkomo are brought to fruition while a board representative, Mrs Nkomo Ibrahim said in the same manner that the two late vice presidents [Landa John and Dr Joshua Nkomo) worked together, the two boards should also try to work hand in hand.
Senator Masuku, who spoke on behalf of Friends of Landa John Nkomo at a fundraising dinner, said the late vice president was a tough man who led with great wisdom.
Nkomo died on the 17th of January 2013 at the age of 79 and was buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.
