Thokozani Khupe's VP post under siege

Thokozani Khupe's position as MDC-T vice president is under siege following latest manoeuvres by party president Morgan Tsvangirai to consolidate his grip on the topmost position through constitutional changes.

A constitutional committee led by party national chairperson, Morgen Komichi is currently involved in intra-party consultations seeking contributions for a new party constitution in a process so far marked by bickering and manipulation, threatening to tear the party further apart.

Party insiders say Thabitha Khumalo and Komichi have set eyes on the prestigious position of vice-president a position that guarantees one a ticket to the presidium, while Komichi has set out to block potential rivals and influential members by trimming down their powers.
