Granny burnt to death

A 90-YEAR-OLD Chipinge granny was last week burnt to death after she was left alone in her hut warming herself up.
Chipinge District police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Blessing Kadzuraumera, confirmed the incident which happened last Wednesday at Shakavanhu Village under Chief Mutema.
"On August 19, at around 7pm, Mwaiseka Shaimano (74) of the same village, who is a daughter to the deceased, Masodzi Shaimano (90), went to cook supper for her mother who was no longer able cook for herself because of advanced age.
"On August 20 at around 7am, Munako Meke (64) who is Masodzi's daughter-in-law visited Masodzi and found her charred body lying in the hut. Her blankets had been reduced to ashes. Munako immediately rushed to the police and made a report," said Asst Insp Kadzuraumera.
