Zanu PF youths in Gokwe Nembudziya have criticised the revolutionary party stalwarts for fuelling divisions, saying there is need for a unity of purpose ahead of the elective congress slated for December.
The call for unity of purpose comes at a time when the revolutionary party is gearing up for the forthcoming elective congress as some party members are positioning themselves for higher positions while undermining the status quo.
At a highly charged meeting in Gokwe where those that fuel divisions in the revolutionary party were shamed, while developments at the Youth and Women's Conference were revisited, youths said there is need for party officials to desist from vote-buying and concentrate on building the party by championing developmental projects.
Zanu PF Politburo member, Edison Chakanyuka said those that use money to buy votes are destroying the party, hence the need for a disciplinary action to be taken as a matter of urgency to bring sanity into the party.
Gokwe Nembudziya legislator, Justice Mayor Wadyajena emphasised the need for party supporters to remain united and work towards the development of the area, adding that the youths are fully behind President Robert Mugabe and the elevation of the First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe to the position of the Secretary for Women Affairs.
The meeting was convened to thank the electorate and update them on the developments in the party ahead of the December elective congress.
The National Assembly member also toured some developmental projects in the area and pledged to buy uniforms and pay school fees for 15 students for their outstanding displays.
