The Zimbabwean national, Godfrey Tawanda Sibanda who was caught-up in a xenophobic attack in Seshego, Mpumalanga province in South Africa is still to be repatriated for burial back home.
The late Godfrey Tawanda Sibanda was stoned to death by some Seshego residents following the eruption of xenophobic attacks in the area on the 13th of last month.
Brother of the late Sibanda, Mr. Jabulani Sibanda who travelled to South Africa to organise the return of the body of Godfrey Tawanda, said some R10 000 is required for the purpose.
The late Sibanda is said to be from Chief Chingoma's area in Mberengwa.
Consul-general, Godfrey Magwenzi who visited Seshego police station to verify the incident said a total of 28 families are living in a hall at the police station.
Magwenzi said a councillor in the area and 11 others were arrested in connection with Sibanda's murder and on charges of arson.
The 12 people including an ANC councillor have since appeared in court and they were fined R5 000 apiece.
The recent eruption of xenophobic attacks is said to have started after a local councillor held a meeting with the police seeking permission to drive out Zimbabweans from the area.
An orgy of xenophobic violence ensued in the following days resulting in Sibanda's death and the burning down of some 11 houses.
