A 27-YEAR-OLD Harare man was last week Saturday allegedly raped by a gang of four women before he was dumped in Beatrice after boarding a Toyota Corolla from the city centre on his way to Glen Norah.
Police could not immediately confirm the incident, but according to a medical report from Harare Central Police Station, the victim suspected that he was injected with an unknown substance and raped by the women he had boarded the vehicle with.
Narrating his ordeal yesterday, the victim said he was waiting for transport in the city centre when the vehicle stopped close to where he and other women commuters were standing. "One of the women went and asked the driver where he was going and when I heard he was on his way to Glen Norah, I rushed to the vehicle together with the women," he said.
"The male driver was travelling in the company of a female passenger. Three women and myself were at the back of the vehicle. All was well until we reached the roundabout [KuMbudzi].
The driver said he wanted to get fuel from the nearby service station, but suddenly, he increased speed and when I tried to hold the steering my arm was twisted by the women I was sitting with at the back," the victim said.
He said he felt as if he was drugged and became very weak only to wake up the next morning without his clothes. "I woke up naked the following morning, feeling very tired. My trousers and underwear were dumped close to where I slept," he added.
The victim said nothing from his belongings was taken and he made a report at Harare Central Police Station the following day. According to a police medical report, he developed some sores on his genitals.
"The patient was drugged and suspects he had unprotected sex since he is developing some sore on his genitals," the police report reads.
The victim went to a private hospital first, but was now receiving treatment at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals. Police acting provincial spokesperson for Harare Inspector Tarirai Dube said she was not aware of the incident and referred questions to Mashonaland East police officials who were not immediately available for comment.
Several reports of female rapists have been received in the last few years sparking fears that the women rapists were using the sperms they would have harvested from the victims for juju.
