A MUTASA man is on the run after allegedly raping his workmate's wife and threatening to kill her last week.
Police confirmed that a manhunt had been launched for Garikai Nyika Musani (22) who disappeared after raping his workmate's wife.
Deputy Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda, appealed for information leading to Musani's arrest.
"Musani used to stay in the same house with the complainant aged 15. One morning, the complainant's husband and the accused went to work together as usual.
"Upon arrival at work, Musani decided to go back home and quench his sexual desires on his colleague's wife.
He went into his colleague's bedroom, locked it and raped her once. He then threatened to stab the complainant with a knife if she tells anyone about the incident," said Asst Insp Chananda.
The complainant told her husband what had happened when he returned home from work.
A police report was made on August 24.
Police have urged people to report criminal cases as soon as possible to avoid fugitives escaping.
