Multitudes flock to Magaya's crusade

Prophet Walter Magaya, leader of the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries, packed Sakubva Stadium to the rafters since Thursday, with miracle-chasers flocking in from across the country for his crusade.
Many were seated by as early as 6am, with others putting up in the stadium for yesterday's session in anticipation of a bumper crowd.
The usually sleepy city was buzzing with miracle testimonies by people delivered of various infirmities. Many had braved the chilly weather to attend the crusade.
With the charismatic prophet dressed as usual in simple clothing, Magaya was inundated with miracle testimonies after the two-day sessions.
A Yeovil landlady who had been persuaded to go to the crusade by her tenant, made startling claims of a lump on her back disappearing during one of the mass prayer sessions.
Another lady from Dangamvura with a two-week overdue pregnancy was collected from the stadium by an Emras ambulance after going into labour.
A Dangamvura family made a stunning testimony of their four-year-old child regaining his ability to walk.
Likening his work to the biblical story of Moses who lead the Israelites out of captivity in Egypt to his PHD Ministries' work, Magaya warned his parishioners to remain spiritually resolute, saying like Pharoah's persistence even after many miracles, the devil will not give up on his efforts to retain his bind over them.
Transporters and restaurant owners cashed in on the crusade.
Over 10 buses from Harare descended into the city in a convoy, with local operators also recording brisk business ferrying congregants to the service.
The young prophet was the biggest draw-card here since President Robert Mugabe's aerodrome star rally ahead of last year's elections.
