'Sex-starved' hubby turns to prostitutes

A man told the Harare Civil Court yesterday that he has resorted to having sex with prostitutes because his wife sleeps with her clothes on every night to avoid being intimate with him.

Farai Chitsora complained to magistrate Mr Brighton Pabwe that his wife Rebecca was denying him conjugal rights.

He had been summoned to the court by Rebecca who was seeking a protection order.

"He is now living with a girlfriend and whenever he comes home he physically and verbally abuses me over petty issues," said Rebecca.

She told Mr Pabwe that Chitsora was chasing her out of their matrimonial home without giving her a divorce token.

"I want the court to bar him from verbally and physically abusing me," said Rebecca.

Chitsora denied the allegations and accused Rebecca of denying him conjugal rights.

"I am not getting my conjugal rights because my wife sleeps with her clothes on every night to avoid being intimate with me," he said.

Chitsora said Rebecca once went to live with her boyfriend in South Africa leaving him with their minor children and only returned home after three weeks.

"I am now sleeping around in order to quench my sexual appetite because at home I am not getting anything," said Chitsora.

He said like any other man he cannot survive without quenching his sexual appetite.

Mr Pabwe granted the protection order in Rebecca's favour which barred Chitsora from verbally or physically abusing her.

He ordered the two to preserve peace towards each other.
