Zimbabwe's chiefs have endorsed the candidature of the First Lady Grace Mugabe as Secretary for Women's Affairs at the forthcoming Zanu PF elective congress.

Chiefs from all provinces of the country gathered at the Mazowe Children's Home to meet the First Lady.

The Chiefs, who were accompanied by their spouses, have showered praises on Mugabe for the great contribution to Zimbabwe's development through her charity project in Mazowe and farming ventures in the province.

Mugabe said she is humbled by the visit given the huge respect and honour bestowed on the traditional leaders.

She explained that entering politics was never one of her dreams saying chiefs and their spouses should help her find a footing in this new career path.

Turning to her charity work she said the projects have not been an easy walk through the park, but with God's grace and will power her dream came to fruition.

The chiefs and their souses had a tour of the Grace Mugabe Children's Home, the state-of-art-school and the dairy farm.

Mugabe has been endorsed by the Zanu PF women's league to lead them as their Secretary for Women's Affairs in the Politburo and the move was supported by the youth league at the recent conference in the capital.
