Violence mars MDC-T congress run-in

Opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai's faction once again hogged the limelight after violence broke out in Chitungwiza ahead of an elective congress slated for October.

Provincial official and expelled councillor, Rangarirai Mutingwende was brutally attacked and left for dead in Chitungwiza.

Mutingwende alleged he was beaten up on the orders of Zengeza East legislator and MDC-T provincial spokesperson, Alexio Musundire. He however denied any involvement in the assault.

According to reports received Mutingwende was beaten by fellow gamblers.

Musundire has been accused by his own faction of having links with state intelligence as well as another faction of the party now going by the name MDC renewal Team.
