A KAROI man is on the run after raping his neighbour's wife he tricked into coming to his house to "attend" to his sick wife, Zimpapers revealed.
He was, however, alone as his wife had gone to Karoi town.
Desmond Chioko (35) of Hesketh Farm in Karoi allegedly went to his neighbour's house about a kilometre from his home in March this year.

His neighbour had left for Zambia that morning. Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara confirmed the incident.
He confirmed that Chioko was on the run after the woman reported the crime.
"The incident happened ironically when the accused's wife had gone to Karoi and he called his neighbour's wife to come and attend to her," he said.
The neighbour's wife followed several minutes later and found him patiently waiting in the kitchen. Chioko allegedly grabbed the woman as she entered the kitchen and pushed her to the ground before raping her once.
When the woman's husband returned from Zambia on June 18, the woman told him about the alleged rape.
"The three convened a meeting to resolve the matter but failed to reach an agreement and the woman made a police report," he said.
Chioko disappeared and police have since launched a manhunt.
Insp Mabgweazara urged people to report early - especially in rape cases for effective evidence gathering.
