Woman 'married' to goblin receives compensation

A WOMAN from Mairoisi Village in Gokwe who had reportedly deserted her homestead after a goblin thoroughly bashed her for attempting to kill it by putting coarse salt in its "bathing water" is having the last laugh as she is set to receive compensation from her in-laws.
The woman (name withheld) reportedly got the shock of her life when she discovered that she was also married to a goblin and her husband.
The furious goblin reportedly revealed that since the two got married, they never had sex together as it slept with the woman whom it was given by elders as its wife.
Chief Njelele revealed that after a ritual, it was discovered that the man's parents owned the goblin and before they died, they secretly gave the woman to the goblin as its wife.
"The woman and her husband deserted their home and sought for help from traditional healers following the goblin attack. Her parents held a cleansing ceremony for their daughter and to settle the issue, elders of her husband's family agreed to pay her a herd of cattle as a way of apologising," said Chief Njelele.
The traditional healers reportedly trapped the goblin and "killed" it.
It is said that when the two got married, the man's parents paid lobola for him and he assumed that they were being generous not knowing that there was a hidden agenda.
The woman was in the habit of bathing late and every time after she had finished, there were water sounds as if someone was bathing, but when she checked in the dish, she never saw anything.
She was then advised by a friend to put coarse salt in the water and that was the day she got a thorough beating and only heard a voice accusing her of wanting to kill it.
She shouted for help and her husband came to rescue her, but did nothing as he also heard a voice and did not see the person beating up the woman.
They ran away and slept at a neighbour's place. On the following day, they sought help from traditional healers and that is how they discovered that the woman had been married to a goblin forcing them to desert their homestead.
