Harare City Council has bowed down to pressure from a reportedly Mbare-based vigilante group, Chipangano and is now set to transfer some of its workers from the high density suburb as their security cannot be guaranteed.

Council resolved to move some of its workers to other work stations due to continued incidences of violence in Mbare by members of Chipangano against them, putting employees' lives at risk.

Employees from the Corporate Services and Housing departments stationed at Mbare Musika were facing challenges in conducting their duties and this had resulted in work on the upgrading of the bus termini stalling.

Councillors however resoled to deploy employees to other stations while at the same time trying to engage various stakeholders to curb violence at Mbare Musika.
