According to COLAZ, an average college lecturer earns almost US$300 while a university lecturer gets US$1 300 per month.
The discrepancy is what the college lecturers want addressed as they say that they are victims of an out-dated salary grading system.
Meanwhile, the Apex Council, an umbrella body of civil servants, has registered its disappointment with the recently pronounced mid-term fiscal policy statement by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, saying it has a glaring omission on their welfare.
The Apex Council said the fiscal policy statement will leave civil servants even poorer by its proposals to increase taxation on airtime, imported used cars and duty on fuel.
