Mnangagwa issued the warning during a parliamentary seating where members of the august house grilled him concerning government policy regarding the alleged move by MPs to source for assistance from diplomatic missions.
Responding to concerned MPs Mnangagwa said the duty of the government is to source for funding for various developmental projects, adding that it is gross misconduct for the legislators to go begging from "unfriendly" nations. Zimbabweans has isolated itself from the West saying the latter pushed for regime change although government still receives aid from Western organizations such as USaid.
The issue of legislators begging was raised following media reports that a number of National Assembly members have been getting assistance from the United States Embassy for development projects while in return they are giving out sensitive information.
The claim was later dismissed by the embassy while implicated legislators disowned the claims.
