Councillors clash over Mbare guest house
25 Sep 2014 at 03:54hrs | Views

The Harare City Council chambers yesterday turned into a political battlefield as councillors clashed over allegations that Zanu-PF stalwart and former youth leader, Jim Kunaka has taken over a council guest house in Mbare.
Kaytor House provides shelter to long distance travellers who put up at the house for a fee.
Councillors have however said the house was no longer generating money hence there was need to deal with the issue. Zanu-PF councillor Maureen Nyemba, however objected discussing the issue and said mayor Bernard Manyenyeni and other councilors should focus on other houses that were not generating revenue in the capital.
MDC-T councillor Peter Moyo hit back saying councillors should set aside political affiliation and protect the interests of council.
