THE MDC-T Harare and Chitungwiza provinces have retained faith in the party leader Morgan Tsvangirai and his deputy Thokozani Khupe.

In provincial nominations done this week, the two provinces retained their faith in national chairman Lovemore Moyo. The two provinces also nominated national organising secretary Nelson Chamisa for the post of secretary-general of the party.

Chamisa has scored an early lead ahead of rivals reportedly eyeing the same post, including Douglas Mwonzora, who has been nominated by the two provinces for the position of spokesperson he currently holds.

Harare's list of nominations include Tsvangirai for president, Khupe for deputy president, Moyo for chairman, Chamisa for secretary-general and Paurina Mpariwa for deputy secretary-general.

The province also nominated Theresa Makone for the post of treasurer-general with Tapiwa Mashakada as her deputy, while Amos Chibaya was nominated for the post of organising secretary with Abednico Bhebhe as his deputy.

Mwonzora was nominated for the position of spokesperson while Tabitha Khumalo was nominated for the position of deputy treasurer-general.

Chitungwiza nominated Mashakada for the post of deputy secretary-general with Chamisa as his boss and also nominated Makone for the treasurer-general's post with James Makore deputising.

Murisi Zwizwai was nominated for the post of organising secretary with returnee Job Sikhala and Bhebhe sharing equal votes for the post of deputy organising secretary.

Mwonzora was nominated for the post of spokesperson, while Harare spokesperson Obert Gutu was nominated for the post of deputy treasurer-general.

The MDC-T has 12 provinces and 10 of them are yet to make nominations.
