Residents left homeless as municipality demolishes homes

The Chitungwiza Municipality on Friday have begun demolishing illegal structures built on wetlands and other undesignated areas in Chitungwiza leaving residents homeless.
Epworth residents also faced a similar fate.
The Deputy Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Joel Biggie Matiza said: "This is lawlessness which we will not tolerate anyhow and we have no option but to destroy these structures."
A long standing feud between land owners and local authorities has existed since corruption revelations in the subdivision and illegal allocation of stands.
