40-YEAR-OLD security guard, Tafadzwa Chiwanza, employed by Evershell Security Company, has been accused of breaking into offices during the night and stealing valuables, fuel coupons and cash.
He was deployed at the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing at Makombe Building.
Chiwanza was arraigned before Harare magistrate, Mr Milton Serima, charged with unlawful entry into premises in aggravating circumstances.
Mr Serima remanded him in custody to Monday next week for a possible plea recording since he is not denying the charges against him.
Prosecutor, Miss Sharon Mashavira, told the court that on July 30 this year, one of the complainants (name not supplied), could not find the $1 700 in cash and 700 litres worth of fuel coupons she had left in her office drawer.
Another complainant could not find shoes and a jacket she had left in her office prompting both to make a police report.
Following a tip off, police raided Chiwanza's Eastview home where they found several stolen items, which Chiwanza confessed to stealing from various offices at the complex.
He also admitted that he had stolen the cash and fuel coupons, and that he had sold the coupons to commuter omnibus drivers.
