Teacher dies after downing an overdose of illicit beer

A 45-YEAR-OLD Chipinge teacher collapsed and died after downing an overdose of illicit beer, ZED on Tuesday.
Police confirmed the death of Kenneth Mudavanhu who was a teacher at New Year's Gift.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Enock Chishiri, urged people to desist from drinking the illicit beer.
"We do not recommend that type of alcohol. We also urge people to drink responsibly and stop abusing alcohol," he said.
Insp Chishiri said Mudavanhu of House Number 22, Zesa Street in Gaza, fell on the veranda of his house and became unconscious at around 6pm.
A nurse at Chipinge District Hospital, Farai Dhliwayo, (30) called for an ambulance and Mudavanhu was ferried to the hospital.
He died upon admission.
