Two brothers last week appeared before Harare magistrate, Milton Serima, one charged with raping his niece and the other for trying to conceal the sexual assault by forcing the 19-year-old girl to abort.
Goodboy Gavi, 46, appeared in court on Thursday charged with conspiracy to unlawfully terminate a pregnancy and was remanded in custody to October 2.
Earlier on Wednesday, Goodboy's brother, Trust had appeared before the same magistrate charged with raping the girl and was also remanded in custody.
The State alleges that in July this year, Goodboy was informed by his niece's employer that the girl was pregnant.
The court heard the accused and his brothers met, discussed their niece's pregnancy and decided that it should be quickly terminated.
It is the state's case that the family arranged for the girl to see a doctor in Rugare who would conduct the procedure.
Prosecutor Sebastian Mutizirwa said when the girl arrived at the doctor's place, Goodboy's wife and a woman identified as Elizabeth inserted a pill into the girl's private parts.
After the procedure was done, the three women drove to Lake Chivero and slept at a near-by bush waiting for the foetus to be released but nothing happened.
On August 4, the three women allegedly returned to the same doctor where she was injected on the arm before the three went back to Lake Chivero.
It is alleged that later in the day, the girl delivered a dead foetus which was wrapped in a blanket and placed in a sack before being disposed of at a bridge near Rugare.
The court was told that the girl was kept in-doors for three days and was only picked up by her uncle's wife when she was about to leave for Mutare.
The trip to Mutare was arranged for the family to conceal the terminated pregnancy.
While in Mutare, it is alleged that her aunt tipped off the police.
