UZ student found dead in swimming pool at the campus

A 21-year-old University of Zimbabwe student died in unclear circumstances and his body was found in a swimming pool at the campus this Wednesday afternoon.

Police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

He said the body of the student, whose name is being withheld since his next of kin has not yet been informed, has since been retrieved and sent to Parirenyatwa Hospital for a post mortem.

It is not yet clear whether the death was due to drowning or otherwise and police are still carrying out investigations to ascertain what might have happened.
