Tractor range launched in Harare

A range of tractors set to address local farmers' needs for equipment has been launched in Harare.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development responsible for Crops, Davis Marapira, who was Guest of Honour at the official launch of the Valtra range of tractors manufactured in Brazil, said government constantly wants to give priority to agriculture which is the mainstay of the Zimbabwean economy.
Also attending the event was Vice President Joice Mujuru, who came in her capacity as a farmer.
Dr Mujuru paid tribute to Valtra for such ingenuity that is set to benefit the agriculture sector saying even farmers like her will be empowered.
Since embarking on the historic land reform programme, Zimbabwe has taken a robust mechanisation programme and scores of farmers have benefitted from the initiative.
