A MUTARE teenager (19) was evicted from her parents' house for constantly assaulting her mother.

Having had enough of her daughter's bashing and insults, a Mutare woman, Ms Jane Masime, approached the courts praying for the eviction of her daughter, Chipo Marecha. The two appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mrs Sharon Chipanga who ordered that Chipo vacated the house by today.

Ms Masime told the court that her daughter was in the habit of assaulting and insulting her for no reason. She told the court that she was no longer enjoying her peace.

"I pray that the court will grant me my wish to evict my daughter from my house. She has become a problem child.

"She beats me up and insults me all the time for no apparent reason. My life is now a nightmare in my own house. Enough is enough and this should come to an end. She must move out of my house," said Ms Masime.

Chipo did not show any remorse for her actions and confirmed that indeed Ms Masime was her biological mother.

She did not say anything when asked whether the allegations were true and the court took the silence as confirmation of her wayward behaviour. The ‘mom-beater' said her mother was just making the story because she was upset by the fact that she had fallen pregnant and given birth at home.

"This is not true. The truth is she wants me out of her house because I have a baby out of wedlock. She has been cross over this issue for some time now.

"These things do happen. I am a human being and I am prone to mistakes like anyone else," said Masime.

In her ruling, Mrs Chipanga, said: "For a woman to apply for her daughter's eviction shows that there is more to it.

You seem to have really frustrated her. You have to leave the house because you have proved to be a bad example of a daughter and you never showed any remorse when you were talking."

Chipo pleaded for leniency with the courts saying she did not have any other source of income.

This was dismissed by the court saying she should have thought of it before assaulting and insulting her mother.
