War vets fined $100 for public violence

Ten of the 20 war veterans who almost killed a Masvingo East farmer after striking him in the head with an axe have been fined $100.

The war veterans who also set alight a farm house and vehicle, destroying property worth over $100 000 were spared jail after magistrate chose a fine sentence.

The magistrate said the war vets face d 60 days in prison if they fail to raise the $60.
