A fortnight after senior superstar Oliver 'Tuku' Mtukudzi launched his 62nd album - Mukombe Wemvura - the album has found its way to the streets.
Although the actual album is not yet available under circumstances that Tuku failed to explain, pirates have already started selling copies of the album.
Tuku did not avail the album during the launch nor is it available at local record stores.
However, it seems someone used a sophisticated gadget to record the songs while Tuku belted them live on stage.
These recorded live tracks are the ones available on the album that is circulating on the streets of Harare.
The CDs are going for $1 and the most popular spots are Five Avenue shopping Centre, Avondale Shopping Centre and Newlands Shopping Centre where the album is fast selling.Tuku album leaks
Lately, Tuku has been accused of deliberately starving the local market while targeting South Africa as he has previously done.
In 2009, Tuku first launched his 57th album Dairai, in South Africa.
This was received with mixed feelings by a cross-section of local music lovers, who said it was a mockery to them.
However, this time around, witty music pirates have countered him and flooded the market with a 'fake' but highly demanded product that might bleed the sales of the actual album, once it is available locally.
