Scores of people in Harare's high density suburb, Kuwadzana Extension on Tuesday morning gathered to catch a glimpse of a goblin that was allegedly found at a family home.

The goblin was discovered by Munyaradzi Matanga around 7am before he alerted other residents, attracting a sea of people who jostled to catch a glimpse of the said goblin.

'We suspect that false prophets in the area are the ones who placed the goblin because it looks fake and families who stay at this house could not recognise it. 'They wanted us to believe that a new tenant at the house is the owner of the goblin but she has since left for work,' said one resident. Matanga and another unidentified lady shocked residents after they claimed that it (the goblin) blew a whistle and asked for help.

'It was blowing a whistle and that distracted my attention before I called other neighbours, 'I was passing through when I discovered that there was a strange thing wrapped with animal fur before I called other people to witness,' said Matanga. One of the residents shouted from the crowd that it (goblin) was ululating to the amazement of the crowd.

However, a Seventh Day Adventist Church member Nhamo Masaya picked the goblin before he denounced it and 'ordered' its emasculation and destruction, in the power of Jesus Christ, who is above everything. 'These things have no power to those who believe. 'We need to believe in the name above all this is Jesus Christ,' said Nhamo lifting the goblin with NO fear at all.

He asked for a razor blade and tore the 'goblin' apart and a small horn was wrapped inside filled with cow dung. The residents suggested that there were some prophets who are visiting houses in the suburb prophesying falsehoods for cash.

'Last week, two guys visited my house claiming that they can cleanse my house. I am sure these are the ones who are throwing these fake goblins. 'They buy them from Mukuvisi River in Mbare where they are made,' claimed one resident.
