'No death sentence on women'

Concourt yesterday admitted that death sentence on women cannot be carried out.

This came out after ZLHR representing two women appealed to the ConCourt questioning the constitutionality of the death sentence on women.

Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku with the concurrence of the full ConCourt bench however postponed the matter indefinitely.

ZLHR who are first applicant in the matter with Rosemary Margaret Khumalo and Shylet Sibanda being second and third applicants respectively, cited the minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Prosecutor-General and the Attorney General as the first, second and third respondents respectively.
