Burglar removes asbestos sheets off the roof to gain entry

A BURGLAR targeting clothing shops at the St Mary's Huruyadzo Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza has been caged for an effective six years for breaking into shops and stealing.
Tafadzwa Musemwa would remove asbestos sheets on the shops' roofs, before breaking the ceiling to gain entry.
He was nabbed and appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Lazarus Murendo answering to allegations of unlawful entry.
Circumstances are that on September 15, Musemwa broke into Marvellous Fashion shop at Huruyadzo Shopping Centre by removing an asbestos sheet on the roof and broke the ceiling to gain entry.
He went on to steal several clothes in the shop before disappearing.
It was further proved that on October 1, Musemwa broke into another fashion shop at Huruyadzo shopping centre using the same modus operandi.
He removed an asbestos sheet and broke the ceiling to gain entry.
He also stole several clothes from the shop before disappearing.
He was nabbed by the police resulting in his subsequent appearance in court.
Musemwa was slapped with a total eight years imprisonment on both counts before one year was suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
A further one year was set aside on condition of restitution to the complainants.
