Beleaguered war veterans leader Jabulani Sibanda has lashed out at the Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services and the state media labelling both a security threat.

Sibanda's attacks on the ministry and the public media follow the wide coverage given to Dr Grace Mugabe who went around the country on a 'Meet the People Tour.'

Sibanda, who snubbed the rallies, queried why Dr Mugabe was given what he called acres of space on ZBC and the Herald to criticise Vice President Dr Joice Mujuru.

Dr Mugabe asked the Vice President to step down following allegations of corruption, divisiveness and plans to remove President Robert Mugabe from power.

Sibanda, who was addressing a gathering of freedom fighters who had converged at Herbert Mine in Mutasa where remains of 82 freedom fighters were exhumed from a disused mine shaft, said the Zanu-PF Politburo is now dominated by power hungry people and as war veterans they will not allow them to prevail.

Sibanda was reacting to the postponement of the reburial of the remains of the freedom fighters by government, to a date to be announced.

On Sunday, the Minister of Home Affairs Kembo Mohadi postponed the reburial which was meant for Monday sighting inconsistencies which he said need to be resolved by his ministry before a new date is set.

Sibanda also alleged that war veterans are being blocked from meeting President Mugabe, threatening to organise a march to State House to meet their patron if this continues.

Zanu-PF provincial chairman Ambassador John Shumba Mvundura, who addressed the same gathering, said he was surprised by government's decision to postpone the reburials.

In apparent reference to Dr Grace Mugabe's position on Dr Mujuru, the provincial chairman said it is not true that there is a plot to remove President Mugabe from power, saying instead power hungry individuals are the ones fuelling tensions within the revolutionary party.

The Zanu-PF National Secretary for Administration Didymus Mutasa called for unity of purpose and togetherness to prevail in the party before, during and after the December elective congress.

Mutasa, who said he could not say much about the postponement of the reburials in the presence of the media, said all party cadres should attend the elective December congress with one common purpose of furthering the revolutionary party as well as endorsing President Mugabe.
