SK Moyo's ties with Mujuru cost him VP post

AMBASSADOR Simon Khaya Moyo's hopes of landing the vice president post at the party's crunch December Congress might all be a pie in the sky.
His subscription to a faction led by Vice-President Joice Mujuru has prompted his detractors, mainly from a faction led by the party's strongman Emmerson Mnangagwa to pull all the stops to ensure he does not land the vice-presidency, a POSITION that for long seemed all but in the bag.
His ally Mujuru is also almost certain of being jobless after the December Congress.
Mujuru and Moyo's fortunes have since taken a knock after they were pictured dancing at a rally in Mount Darwin.
The Zanu PF chairman, a senior minister in President Robert Mugabe's government, seemed to have secured the post when his colleagues from the former Zapu endorsed his candidacy at a meeting in Gweru last year.
His rivals for the post — Home Affairs minister, Kembo Mohadi, Senator Naison Kutshwekhaya Ndlovu and former senior Zapu members, Ambrose Mutinhiri and Phelekezela Mphoko — have rubbished the Gweru resolution.
On the other hand, Mujuru has been rendered a political reject by First Lady Grace Mugabe who unleashed a vitriolic attack on her before ordering her to resign immediately.
