The social media was abuzz on Friday with rumours that legendary US-based Zimbabwean music Thomas Mapfumo had passed on.
Zimbabweans have been advised not to circulate the false rumours and to desist from generating any such unfounded statements against each other.
"Sharing an unfounded rumour can serve to hurt innocent people and could even cause a health catastrophy," said Community's Link spokesperson Michael Shoko.
