Chief Mutasa has hinted he might mobilise his people to rebury the remains of the 82 freedom fighters exhumed from Herbert Mine if the government continues to delay as traditional norms are now being violated.
Delays in according decent burial to the remains of the 82 freedom fighters exhumed from a disused mine shaft in Mutasa have now personally affected Chief Mutasa.
One of the chief's sons is reportedly being possessed by the restless spirit of one of the freedom fighters.
In an interview, Chief Mutasa said traditional rituals in his area have been compromised by delays in the reburial of the remains of the freedom fighters and said if it persists, he and his people will conduct the reburials.
Villagers interviewed by the ZBC News confirmed strange happenings are taking place in the area and attributed it to the restless spirits of the freedom fighters.
Zanu-PF Manicaland Provincial leadership also concurred that delays in the reburial process have become a cause for concern.
The reburial had been set for Monday the 27th of October but it was postponed by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the 14th of November.
The Manicaland leadership wants the whole process to be complete by Friday the 7th of November.
