Delays in going ahead with decent burial to the remains of the 82 freedom fighters exhumed from a disused mine shaft in Mutasa have now reportedly personally affected Chief Mutasa.
One of the chief's sons is apparently being possessed by the restless spirit of one of the freedom fighters.
In an interview with the ZBC News, Chief Mutasa said traditional rituals in his area have been compromised by delays in the reburial of the remains of the freedom fighters and said if it persists, he and his people will conduct the reburials.
Villagers interviewed by the ZBC News claimed that strange happenings are taking place in the area and attributed it to the restless spirits of the freedom fighters.
Zanu PF Manicaland Provincial leadership also concurred that delays in the reburial process have become a cause for concern.
The reburial had been set for Monday the 27th of October but it was postponed by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the 14th of November.
The Manicaland leadership wants the whole process to be complete by Friday the 7th of November.
