War vets back Kaukonde

War veterans in Mashonaland east have come out in support of Zanu-PF provincial chair Ray Kaukonde distancing themselves from the demonstration staged against him in Marondera.

Eric Samunda, the war vet chairperson for Mash East said none of his members had participated in demonstrations.

He said they recognise Kaukonde as the chairperson of Mash East constitutionally and does not want divisions in the province.

Samunda said most of the people who demonstrated were farmers allegedly being mobilised by Patrick Nyaruwata.
