THE government has completed investigations into the politically-motivated violence that left scores of Zanu-PF supporters injured in Southlea Park in Harare South on Wednesday and will soon make the contents of the report public.
Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister Ignatius Chombo visited the area on Thursday.
"We visited the area and prepared a detailed report on the regrettable episode," he said.
Police are keen to interview all those implicated in the attack which is blamed on factional fights in Zanu-PF.
Violence broke out at Nyashadzamwari Housing Cooperative and left several people injured and some houses destroyed before police intervened.
Harare South legislator Shadreck Mashayamombe and former Zanu-PF Harare youth chairman Jimu Kunaka were implicated as the sponsors of the attacks.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Memory Pamire said in an interview that investigations into the case were already underway.
"As police, we are carrying out investigations into this matter and we are keen to interview Rodrick Majoni, Anthony Gono, Ephraim Pfundukwa and one Jaira in connection with the attacks", she said.
Insp Pamire said no one had been arrested as they were still carrying out investigations.
When The Herald visited Nyashadzamwari Housing Cooperative, the atmosphere was tense with riot police roaming the area to preserve peace.
Chairwoman for Nyashadzamwari Housing Cooperative Memory Mutandiro said they were now living in fear.
"We are now living in fear because the thugs are always appearing, and getting away without being arrested," she said.
Lydia Nzombe, who is the chairwoman for Herbert Chitepo B Cooperative, expressed concern over the manner in which police were handling the case.
