Tyunga High School disturbs candidates for exams
Tyunga high school is located about approximately 136 km north of Binga center. A lot of disturbances to school candidates writing their exams delivers a lot of concern for the community surrounding. School children are denied access to enjoy their rights.

In 2014 June exams there is an upper six student who was beaten on his way to sit for the June English exam to supplement to his subjects. This was done out of the unspecified reason. How can a normal teacher beat a candidate at the entrance to the exam. That is clear abuse of human rights in general and pupil's rights in particular. The school authorities are there to support such issues. Stringent measures should be taken sooner than later.

In another incident,  a form 4 student was denied access to sit for the O level district mid year exams after being accused of indiscipline. The level of indiscipline is a matter of attention because the school boycotted communication with the parent and guardian of the child. Although the student is said to be indisciplined the school authorities are caught outside the jurisdiction of law for not communicating with the parents nor the DEO of Binga District.

As a concerned and determined community member i call upon relevant authorities to work on this matter. I personally view it as absolute abuse of human and right on access to education.

In one of the conversation the highest school authority commented that "when you tell him something he talks of his rights". Is it wrong to know and speak of your rights as a student? This means that the school authorities are against the concern by the government to protect citizens through knowing their rights and upholding them.

In 2013,  another private candidate was detained for about 30 minutes after the exam commenced on allegations of having not paid up all his dues. Bad part of the issue is that his fellows who had not paid up the dues were allowed access to exam. Is this according to the exam regulations? Are teachers meant to detain candidates for exams. Please let this end. May Tyunga secondary school staff revive their actions before the matters can call legal attention

In a more recent issue, there is a form four candidate who is sitting for his ordinary level exams without a statement of entry. On approaching the school clerk the candidate failed to obtain his statement of entry. Writing like this the candidate gets into the examination without a statement of entry. My concern now is that why do school authorities allow all such mess to happen? What do ZIMSEC exam rules and regulations spell out. To what extent are human rights upheld. Please please, responsible authorities may you deal with this matter with urgency. It's really fatal to find such things. Someone must be answerable to this.
